How many scholarships can I apply for?
You are allowed to apply for one or more of our scholarship categories below. You must submit one application per category. You are not allowed to submit multiple applications per category. For example, you can apply once for our pilot scholarships, and you can apply once for our aviation maintenance scholarships, but you cannot submit two pilot scholarship applications.
Our Scholarship Categories:
Pilot Scholarships
Aviation Maintenance Scholarships (mechanics, fabricators, technicians, etc.)
Air Traffic Control & Airport Management Scholarships
Other aviation scholarships (drone pilots, aerospace engineering, astronauts, etc.)
You can now submit all additional documents through the application portal.
Gather these required documents as soon as possible
Proof of permanent U.S. residency
Proof of Alaska residency or that you intend to complete your training/education in Alaska
A letter of recommendation (ideally from someone familiar with your aviation experience)
We offer scholarships for those experiencing financial hardships. If you intend to apply for these scholarships, you will need to provide supporting documents of your choice.
Consider adding additional supporting documentation
You are welcome to share any documents that you feel will bolster your candidacy for a scholarship. People often submit transcripts, additional letters of recommendation, awards, etc.
How to submit additional documentation
You must now submit documentation through the application portal. Unfortunately, you can not save progress and return to the application so you must have your documents gathered prior to applying. Click on the document type in the portal to upload files. If you have questions, please email us at info@alaskaairmen.org.
