FLY INTO THE GATHERING

Important note: on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th at 12 PM, the Department of Forestry will be conducting a Fire Suppression Demonstration at the Palmer Airport (PAAQ). Pilots are urged to monitor NOTAMs and the Palmer Temporary Tower on 118.0 when flying in the vicinity of PAAQ. 

Fly into the airport, stay for the day, and fly out.
  1. Navigate to Warren "Bud" Woods Palmer Municipal Airport (PAAQ)
  2. Contact the Palmer Temporary Tower on 118.0 for direction.
  3. Land at PAAQ.
  4. Switch to Palmer Temporary Ground Control on 125.18 for progressive taxi directions or to receive a follow-me escort to transient parking.

 

Fly into the airport, camp for FREE Friday and/or Saturday night, and fly out Sunday.
  1. Reserve a campsite (space is limited, registration is required, FREE). Click here to reserve now.

  3. Contact the Palmer Temporary Tower on 118.0 for direction.
  4. Land at PAAQ.

Camping Availability

Aircraft camping information
  • FREE
  • 25 aircraft spots available
  • Pre-registration is required (button above)
  • You must bring your own tie-down rope and anchor system. You will not be allowed to camp without tie-downs and anchors. Anchor examples can be found here.
  • The camping surface is dirt and grass.
  • One week before the event we will notify campers to determine if the weather will allow camping.
  • Campfires are authorized in provided, fire-marshal-approved pits only. Bring your own firewood.
  • Pets are not allowed. 
  • A dumpster is available on-site.
  • Port-o-potties provided (no restrooms)
  • No access to water.
  • Shuttles into Palmer and the Fairgrounds run throughout the day Saturday and Sunday until 6 PM. There are no shuttles on Friday.
