HAVE FUN while supporting one of the largest Aviation Tradeshows in Northwest America, the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering!
CONSIDER JOINING THE GREAT ALASKA AVIATION GATHERING TEAM AS A VOLUNTEER LEAD!
The Alaska Airmen's Association needs your help to greet guests at the main entrances/shuttle buses, manage our Membership and NextGen Club booth, work with kids on hands-on activities, help set-up/cleanup/parking, AND MORE!
Volunteers will be provided lunch Friday-Monday. Coffee, snacks, and drinks are provided throughout the event in our volunteer-only lounge located at the Alaska State Fairgrounds and the Palmer Municipal Airport.
New volunteers who are able to dedicate 4+ hours will receive one of our exclusive orange volunteer hoodies!

HOW TO FLY-IN
Fly into the airport, stay for the day, and fly out.
- Navigate to Warren "Bud" Woods Palmer Municipal Airport (PAAQ)
- Check back here in Spring 2024 for Temporary Air Traffic Control details and landing procedures.
Fly into the airport, camp for FREE Friday and/or Saturday night, and fly out Sunday.
- Reserve a campsite (space is limited, registration is required, FREE).
- Read the camping information below.
Register for the Show and Shine and fly into the Fairgrounds.

CAMP WITH YOUR AIRCRAFT
Fly into the airport, camp Friday and/or Saturday night, and fly out Sunday.
- Reserve a campsite (space is limited, and registration is required). **REGISTRATION WILL OPEN SPRING 2025**
Aircraft camping information
- FREE
- Pre-registration is required
- You must bring your own tie-down rope. Anchors will be provided.
- The camping surface is asphalt
- Campfires are authorized in provided, fire-marshal-approved pits only. Bring your own firewood.
- Pets are not allowed.
- A dumpster is available on-site.
- Port-o-potties provided (no restrooms)
- No access to water.
- Shuttles into Palmer and the Fairgrounds run throughout the day Saturday and Sunday until 6 PM. There are no shuttles on Friday
Finding Lodging for the Gathering!
The Great Alaska Aviation Gathering will take place in Palmer at the Alaska State Fairgrounds and the Palmer Municipal Airport this year.
The closest lodging can be found in Palmer and Wasilla, but Anchorage is only a 45-minute, scenic drive from the event.
