President’s Report – Transponder
Greetings Airmen’s Members,
Happy beginning to summer in Alaska. First off, it was great to see Alaska Airmen’s members, friends, exhibitors, and aviation enthusiasts at the 2025 Great Alaska Aviation Gathering. We greatly enjoyed the event and it’s nice to put another successful gathering in the books. I was very impressed with the Legend cub that we raffled off and have already had the opportunity to see it here in Anchorage. We were also thrilled to award scholarships to 45 recipients. If you have a desire to donate, please consider donating to the Airmen’s Scholarship program so we can continue to grow our own timber for the future.
Wrapping up the Gathering, we are turning our attention to a handful of summer events, including fly-outs, events at the Airmen’s headquarters, and continuing our focus on advocacy and several important issues on the horizon. The advocacy team is focused on the airspace re-work design in Anchorage. We continue to lead with a strong voice to advocate for our members for solutions that will not negatively impact our way of aviation in the Anchorage bowl. Please stay tuned for updates from our Executive Director and staff on the subject.
Thank you for your support in the Alaska Airmen’s Association. Enjoy the summer, get out flying, and look forward to seeing you along the way.
Fly safe,
Stephen Ratcliff
President
