Executive Director’s Report Priscilla Ribic – Alaska Airmen’s Association

The 2025 Great Alaska Aviation Gathering is in the books and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees who made this year’s event such a tremendous success. Your support continues to elevate the Gathering as one of the premier aviation events in the country. A special thank you goes out to our dedicated staff and volunteers—the true workhorses behind the scenes. Your efforts ensured the event ran smoothly and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

Looking ahead, we’ve already started planning for the 2026 Gathering, and we’re eager to share more details in the near future!

This summer has been full of aviation excitement across the state. We’ve seen fantastic turnouts at events like Fairbanks Aviation Day, the Valdez Fly-In and STOL Competition, Merrill Field Aviation Day, the Sourdough Fly-In and Skwentna Fly-In, the Kenai Aviation Day. And we’re not done yet—we’re looking forward to the Seldovia Fly-In, Fly8MA Fly-In, and Youth in Aviation Day in August, as well as NextGen Last Thursday Socials. Be sure to follow us on social media for the latest updates and volunteer opportunities to stay involved.

We’re also excited to announce the launch of our new electronic membership cards. This improvement helps us reduce administrative costs while giving you instant access to your membership benefits, including exclusive discounts statewide—conveniently listed on the back of your digital card.

As part of our effort to connect with more members around the state, we’ve launched our Member Potluck Series, with events scheduled in Fairbanks, Palmer, Anchorage, and Kenai. Check our Event Calendar for details—we’d love to see you there!

As I move through my fourth month with the Alaska Airmen’s Association, it has been a genuine pleasure to meet so many of you. I’m grateful for your support and look forward to growing our community and continuing to build strong member relationships across Alaska.

Alaska Airmen’s Association

With a background in nonprofit leadership, I look forward to combining my passion for aviation with the skills and experience I’ve gained in organizational development and community engagement. The Airmen’s has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to help shape its future while continuing to support Alaska’s vibrant aviation community.

A heartfelt thank you to those of you who have already reached out with a warm welcome—whether by phone, email, or just dropping by the office. I’ve greatly appreciated hearing your stories, your viewpoints on aviation in Alaska, and your ideas for what the Association can do to serve you better.

I’m looking forward to connecting with even more of you at upcoming events across the state, and of course, I hope to see many of you at the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering this May—one of my favorite events of the year.

Here’s to blue skies and new beginnings!

Fly safe,
