celebrate Alaska aviation!
The first weekend in May every year, Alaskans gather to celebrate aviation and plan for the upcoming flying season by attending the largest free aviation event in the nation!
Thank You for Attending the 2024 Gathering! - A recap
We marked another successful gathering at the Alaska State Fairgrounds! The Aircraft Spruce Pavilion expanded into the Craig Taylor building, hosting our career fair and new local vendors. Pratt and Whitney led the IA renewal event with a hands-on maintenance workshop, which was a great success. Our youth activity center also found a new home with STEM activities, a kids' play area, drone flying, and more. Thanks to our volunteers for supporting the next generation of aviation!
Highlights included the show and shine competition, scholarship ceremony, seminars, and the fly market. Saturday night's airport after-party featured an incredible performance by Hope Social Club, with help from Silver Sky and Summit Aviation. Despite some wind-related demo cancellations, everyone had a great time!
Congratulations to Zackary from Martin, Tennessee, the winner of the 2024 raffle aircraft, an experimental PA-18 Super Cub built by Danchini Aero! Thanks to all who bought tickets; your support funds training programs, networking, and scholarships.
Big news: American Legend is working on the 2025 raffle aircraft, to be revealed at Oshkosh! Check it out in the Lycoming booth, featuring an impressive IO-360 Thunderbolt engine. Early ticket sales open July 22nd-28th and reopen in November. Stay tuned to our social platforms for updates!
