I was about to say the same; so deeper than last year. Red says June I'd say May but re-appear it will hopefully in time for the BBQ?

Judith, My reply was meant tongue in cheek. Only the weather gods know when the picnic table and the hibernating bears will re-appear. RED 8-)

I know for you the bears can be problematic but I did hope to see them walking the streets when I came to Anchorage - no such luck only a couple of moose, but I did see the bears in the Anchorage Zoo along with the polar bears, same thing happens if I go on whale watching trips though I did see quite a few from shore in Newfoundland while in a moving vehicle and I did see a brown bear grazing then a black bear while being driven from Calgary to Banff.
