I've just looked back on Best Guess for ice out over the last 3 years.
3rd or 4th May 2009, 7th May 2010, 8th May 2011.
So bearing in mind the Air meeting after which it's said the ice melts, the extra depth of snow fall this year, and all the other things .... I guess 10th May this year, lets get more reponses and guesses than in previous years average 9 over 3 years. No April's Fool.

Starting to see overflow today, and the table, my guess 4/29.

I am going to go with Mother's Day, same as last year. I found the site after watching Flying Wild Alaska and have to admit to watching hours and hours of the back and forth of the cam last summer. I saw a comment to that said maybe traffic was down on Lake Hood due to the economy. Any thoughts on whether things are better this year?

I can see grass through the snow. And there is a ring under the tree. I am getting antsy and hopeful that the ice melts soon and we can watch the planes fly again!

I made the guess above for Mother's Day. I have not registered for the forum so I show up as guest. 47 degrees so says the icon above the cam.

I thought that might have been you - you can always add a name so we know who we are talking to. 8-)

I'm just wondering why we've not heard from Don or Airkid have they given up after all those years shoreside?
