I ran into this during the early weeks of February and have it listed in my toolbar folder so it's one of the first sites to come up.
Fantastic vistas of the mountains in the background in contrast to the serenity of the waters.

I wonder who it was that made that little snowcritter before things started to melt...
Other web viewers commented on the "little critter." Here is the response from Nan Llewellyn a Board Member.
The mysterious object you saw on the webcam is actually a snowman, and this is the story of how he came to be:
The Airmen’s Association is currently raising money to build a much needed facility. A friend of mine committed to donating to our building fund if I would in turn build a snowman that he could see on our webcam. So, last night at the conclusion of the monthly Board of Directors meeting, several of the board members went outside and constructed the snowperson you see on the webcam. Unfortunately, the snow conditions were not very conducive to building a snowman, but we gave it our best shot.
We had a really good time; it’s not every day a bunch of grown-ups get to build a snowman. If it meant a donation to our building fund, then we were more than happy to oblige.
Again, thank you for taking an interest in what is happening at the Alaska Airmen’s Association. Ideally, next year we will make an even larger snowman. Keep watching.
