Yes Don I thought I saw very still water yesterday but thanks for confirming it. Seems like Airkid - your son? yourself and I are the only ones to comment nowadays where are all the chatterers? So that was a short five months unfrozen I would have thought 6 would be more workable with. Looking forward to Christmas now. Judith UK

Re: Brrrrrrr!
26 degrees this morning after it was in the high 40's earlier this week. Birds have been plucked from the pond from what I can see. I would say at this rate the lake will lock up for the winter within a week or two unless it warms again. Judith the bad economy has really hit these types of operations pretty hard. Not like the old days where there was nonstop T/O and landings. My father had mentioned to me that he was watching on opening day of hunting this year and saw very few planes...back in the 80's you had to time pushing the planes away from the dock just right so as not to be caught in the traffic taxiing by.

Re: Brrrrrrr!
Wow 37 Degrees and rain on top of first ice, not good. The ice will be very unsafe for awhile, so hopefully everyone will take care when they decide to venture out on it. Yours from 24 Nov 2010, so when will the lake freeze this year we've just had a real Indian summer week here in UK. The ducks seem to have had more time on the lake than the planes this year is that fuel costs? or am I not looking in at the right time of day? Judith UK
